Machlon

Machlon's sire was the famous Peleng, by the famous stallion Nabeg (by Arax by Amurath Sahib), one of the most influential sires in Russian horse breeding (Bairactar-line). Along with Aswan, Nabeg was the most important renewer of type in Tersk. Machlon has several crosses to Nabeg, Arax, Naseem (Skowronek) and Ofir, and also goes back to Aswan/Nazeer (click here for pedigree). Apart from being Birgit's favourite riding horse, Machlon is also used as a lesson horse for all levels of riders as well as a pony horse to take young horses out on the trail for the first few times or to lead another horse with an inexperienced rider on a trail ride. |
Machlon was born in The Netherlands and later sold to Switzerland, where Birgit bought him in 1995. In 1998, Birgit and Machlon immigrated to Canada. They flew to Canada together in a cargo plane and travelled across the country in a horse trailer. Machlon has seen more of the world than a lot of people!
