Riding Horses / Lesson Horses

Falling Star Ranch currently has four riding horses that are used for lessons, cattle drives, trail rides and personal use: Machlon (click here for pedigree), a 1988 chestnut Russian Arabian gelding; TS Bold Cody (click here for pedigree), a 1997 sorrel tobiano American Paint Horse gelding; Bandit, a liver chestnut gelding with flaxen mane and tail; and MoJo, a 1999 red dun quarter horse mare.

All our horses are handled and trained in accordance with Chris Irwin's non-resistance principles. All handling, training, and riding is carefully geared to engender trust, calmness, willingness, focus, respect and sensitivity.

Our school horses are ridden regularly to ensure consistency of training, quality of movement, and responsiveness to ensure that the student is getting an optimum learning experience.

Our horses are a pleasure to be around. When you ride one of our riding horses in a lesson, you can rest assured that you are working with a sound, sane, happy and willing partner.

We look forward to hearing from you!

We invite you to stop by and meet our horses (please phone ahead to make sure we are around). We will be happy to show them to you, and we hope that you will enjoy them as much as we do.
